Adults with ADD (without hyperactivity) and ADHD (with hyperactivity)
Many people know or have heard about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in childhood because of the social and educational difficulties children, particularly boys, have in school. More unfamiliar is Attention Deficit Disorder without hyperactivity most commonly found in girls. Both forms, if not diagnosed in childhood, can go un-diagnosed in adulthood, as hyperactivity tends to diminish with age even though the other symptoms remain.
